Cinnamon Eco Lodge is in the Xuan Hoa community in Bao Yen District of the Lao Cai province of Vietnam. It is about 4 hours from Hanoi on the highway. The Eco Lodge is near Sa Pa but well away from the tourist crowds. The village is about 95kms north east of Lao Cai city and there are a number of options to get to the Lodge. As well as local buses Gioi can arrange for you to be transferred via private air conditioned vehicle or motor bike. He’ll even meet you off the night train or bus from Ha Noi and travel with you to the Lodge.
Xuan Hoa is a small rural village and a unique tourist destination as Cinnamon Eco Lodge is the only tourist accommodation in the area. You will experience the day to day lifestyle of northern Vietnam and depending on the time of year you may be lucky enough to experience the cinnamon harvest (both the bark and oil), the planting or harvesting of the rice or the many other seasonal activities that make up life in rural Vietnam.

Gioi
I have been a tour guide for the past seventeen years. Prior to this, I worked as a bartender and waiter. These work experiences have given me a large network of contacts which enables me to assist guests and arrange tailor-made tours to suit their specific needs and interests. I specialize in mountain trekking and photography and enjoy sharing the natural beauty and traditional rural village life with visitors. You will see my photos displayed in the bungalows and you are welcome to purchase if you would like to take a special piece of northern Vietnam home.
Hue
I am a school teacher (specializing in English) and a busy mother. We live with our daughter and my farming parents who grow a range of crops including cinnamon, rice, tea, and peanuts.
Helping our community and environment
We have a commitment to supporting local children and hope there will be opportunities for children to spend time at Cinnamon Eco Lodge learning and practicing English.
